Haiti
Housing
We have an orphanage in Haiti called Kenbe Fem, which in Haitian Creole means "standing firm". The orphanage is located in Raymond, a small and remote community just outside of Jacmel.
Kenbe Fem is currently home to 25 kids, who have been abused, abandoned, neglected, and/or have lost their parents. The kids are registered with Haiti's social services and placed with us.

For many kids in Haiti, living in an orphanage can mean the difference between a roof over their head or living on the street. We built the orphanage in 2014 to meet an immediate need for shelter for the kids. It is approximately an 1,800 sq. ft. home. It is run as a "family home" by Haitian house parents Frantzo and Anise Jules, rather than as an institution. To learn more about Kenbe Fem and how you can help support the children, go to our Kenbe Fem page.

The current Kenbe Fem building is the first step in a long-range plan for building on the eight acres where it sits. Future plans include building a larger orphanage, a church, school, transitional home for the older kids who are aging out of the orphanage, a team house for volunteers, and a local business that will provide jobs in the community. Learn more about future plans for Haiti here.

Homes for Haiti
Following the 2010 earthquake that devastated Haiti, we partnered with and led volunteers in Texas and North Carolina in building 800 prefabricated homes that were shipped and assembled on the ground for families all over Haiti.
