College Sponsorship Program
"Education is the more powerful weapon that you can use to change the world."
Nelson Mandela
We believe that all children deserve the best education available and that all adults deserve the opportunity for higher education, be it a formal academic education, technical or vocational.
We strive to be sure that everyone we assist receives that opportunity.

Mexico
The College Sponsorship Program provides tuition and housing. From 2009 until 2013, the program was located in Ciudad de Victoria, where we used dormitory space adjacent to a church that allowed us to place up to 30 students. As the church grew, it needed the space that we were occupying. In 2012, the program was moved to Reynosa. In February of 2015, we were able to purchase a “new to us” dormitory in Reynosa. The building previously served as a team house for Methodist mission teams. It is perfectly suited for the college students, can currently house 30 students, and has the possibility of expanding to take in more students at a later time. The dormitory is next door to Willie and Veronica Berman. Willie is the Methodist Border Area Mission Coordinator for Mexico. He and Veronica are there to provide daily oversight and guidance to the students. Members of our board visit the dormitory one weekend a month, along with volunteers who work alongside the kids. Read stories about some of our college graduates.
Target Goals and Objectives

To raise a generation out of poverty

To broaden our student's view of the world so that they can help create better policies for their country in the future

To promote better understanding and communication between the United States and countries where we work as our students work hand-in-hand with Americans

To raise a generation who gives back to their communities and country

Haiti
Currently in Haiti, there are three kids who have graduated from high school and have chosen to attend college. The 2014/2015 school year was their first year. All three are doing well! Two are studying Business, and one is studying Medicine. Please check back for updates on their progress.

The average cost for us to keep a student in college is $100 per month per student (tuition, books, supplies, and partial living expenses). We currently have 18 college students. Any amount you contribute to the program is helpful, whether a full $100 a month or any amount per month or one time.
